Graduating from Cal Poly in 1988 with a major in Business and Corporate Finance, Jim founded Jim Marshall Insurance in 1990. Jim holds all insurance licenses as well as Series 6 and 63 Securities licenses. Jim has a strong construction background and specializes in insuring building projects and contractor’s liability. He also has had many law and advanced planning courses which enable him to work with business continuation and estate planning cases.

Living in Los Osos since 1980 Jim has been an active community member and served as President for the San Luis Obispo chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Planners.

Elyse MacKenzie
Commercial Lines Supervisor

With over 16 years of personal and commercial lines insurance experience, Elyse handles all aspects of insurance policy sales and service at Jim Marshall Insurance. Currently a commercial lines specialist, she is committed to finding the most comprehensive coverage at a competitive rate. In 1996, Elyse received her California agent/broker license and has since worked with dozens of carriers giving her the experience and knowledge to help you protect your business and assets.

Since relocating to the Central Coast in 1987, Elyse has furthered her education and professional knowledge in communications and insurance. Her goal is to continue working with local businesses and individuals, and to provide prompt and professional insurance service to each valued client.

Joyce Kawamoto
Office Manager

Joyce handles all accounts payable and receivable, payroll, company records, etc. Prior to moving to the Central Coast, Joyce worked for more than 20 years as an Office Manager and in accounting for mortgage banking and real estate firms in Southern California.
